Our contemporary home was built in 2017 on a sloping acre of land with a professionally designed landscaped garden enhancing the panoramic views overlooking hills and valleys of farm pastures, bushland with native ferns and trees and down to the seas of Corner Inlet and Bass Strait beyond, with a backdrop of the mountains of Wilson’s Promontory - “The Prom”.

We only book one set of guests at a time.

One. Either a couple in our Prom View Suite; or, Two. A group of four guests being family and/or friends in our Prom View Apartment, comprising the Prom View Suite, plus a second bedroom also with Prom views; or, Three. A group of six guests (maximum) being family members and/or friends, accommodated in our Prom View Retreat which consists of the Prom View Apartment plus our Garden View Studio (a third bedroom) with its own entrance and key.

Our guest accommodation is under the same roof as our residence, but you have your own private access entry deck, entrance key, sound-insulated walls, and parking for two cars undercover. We greet and welcome you on arrival, but thereafter,  you enjoy complete privacy, which we highly respect, with no other guest on the property when a couple is booked in, or your own group of up to six family and/or friends (max.) are booked in.

When relaxing at Arlyia, there are plenty of books, magazines, papers, games (such as cards), jigsaws and a smart TV with access to Netflix and Free Wi-Fi for your enjoyment, entertainment and relaxation.

Note: A. Each bedroom has a King sized bed which can be made up into two King sized single beds on request, at the time of booking. B. Each bedroom has its ensuite with heated floors. C. The ensuites of our Prom View Suite and the Prom View Apartment have hand grab rails and a seat in the shower to assist people with ambulant and/or balance difficulties.

Quiet (sound-proofed), peaceful private guest bedroom suites - each totally individual, contemporary designed for supreme relaxation with a luxurious feel and skilled eye for immaculate interior décor, fine fabrics, furniture and colour schemes - benefit from lots of natural light with a delightful outlook and private deck accessed through sliding and hinged doors, combine a high standard of comfort and style to provide an idyllic indulgent “pamperland”, the ideal place to unwind and be cosseted. The comfortable beds, fluffy pillows and quality linen are so sumptuous, you would want to take them home with you. All rooms also include comfortable seating, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities.   

All three spacious bedrooms offer ‘double’ or twin beds options, private, spacious en suite bathrooms with in-floor heating for cosy, even warmth, large, thick luxurious Egyptian cotton towels, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryers and top quality luxury toiletries.

Breakfast

Leisurely gourmet breakfasts are served, at a time of your choice as advise to Julia on arrival, and delivered on a breakfast trolley to your suite. You have a choice of eating indoors or on the deck and at the convenient time that suits you. The breakfast comprises a cooked breakfast dish, cereal with fruit and freshly baked bread, muffins and fruit juice. 

Dinner

A three course dinner can be provided for a special occasion at a reasonable cost, to be advised on enquiry at the time of booking.

Our Gardens

Charming Exterior Artistic Spaces

Our gardens have been professionally and artistically designed and beautifully landscaped to compliment the house.  Great interest and many surprises have been created at almost every turn, making the most of our sloping site in its idyllic natural setting, but in complete sympathy and harmony with the surrounding natural environment using both exotic and many native plants, especially several indigenous to this area. Our gardens are creations to be experienced and enjoyed in all seasons when their character, colours, charms and beauty vary delightfully as each season changes. 

Outdoor Swim Spa Indulgence

Indulge in the open-air hot swim-spa, set in its own extensive timber deck, surrounded by a glass balustrade just outside the guest lounge which overlooks it. Enjoy it as the mood suits you – either swimming or while just sitting back relaxing and sipping your favourite drink soaking up the natural panoramic views, perhaps enhanced by:

  • A glorious colourful summer sunrise over the sea, hills and “The Prom” for early risers accompanied by unique sounds from the chorus of native birds.

  • The leisurely grazing farm animals in pastures close by and on distant hills.  

  • The stunningly beautiful full moon rising above shimmering Corner Inlet and ‘The Prom’ mountains beyond.

Laze and chill out in comfort on a lounge on the north-facing spa deck or your own private deck enjoying a snooze, reading a good book, the newspapers or one of many in a wide selection of interesting complimentary quality magazines available to our guests, while soaking up the warm rays of the sun in the fresh, unpolluted Prom Country air, moved periodically by a gentle sea breeze with the tranquil sounds of unique melodic birdsong and nature all around you, or perhaps savouring a few of your favourite pieces of music.

There is plenty to do with a wonderful selection of walks and places to discover in Prom Country.  Art galleries, museums, historic buildings, scenic attractions, rail trails and wineries abound.  Indulge in delicious food and wine along with your favourite pastime or special interest with a myriad possible gentle activities:

Wonder as you wander….

Walking

The variety of walks in Prom Country is endless. Whatever your level of fitness or area of interest there is a walk that is right for you.

Begin with leisurely walks around our picturesque gardens and the surrounding tranquil countryside – perhaps up to the Foster North lookout, with a shortcut walking access just across the road from the entrance to our property.

Further a field is a variety of rail trails, suitable for walking, cycling or horse-riding by the energetic or not so energetic outdoor enthusiasts.

Wilsons Promontory National Park (“The Prom”) is a 50,000 hectare national park for everyone and for all seasons. It boasts fantastic beaches, cool fern gullies, great views, spectacular rock formations and abundant wildlife. More than 30 walks cover 130km of tracks of varying length and difficulty throughout the Prom. Many of the tracks interlink and hikers can camp at campsites along the way. There is a multitude of exciting ways to experience the Prom.

For those that love the water there are activities to suit all ages and abilities. Whether swimming, snorkelling or surfing there is plenty of action beyond the Prom’s shoreline.

Adventures for the more active

We have already mentioned some of the gentler pursuits. For the more adventurous and energetic, the list is equally endless: high peaks to climb, hill walking, running marathons or the annual Prom Country Challenge (Fun Run) at Toora, horse riding, sailing, windsurfing, parasailing, rock climbing, mountain biking, scenic flights, deep sea fishing or cruise Prom Country’s coastline and beautiful islands in a yacht.
